I find myself suffering from migraines at least twice a week at different times in the day. I drink lots of water, so I know I am not dehydrted. What could be causing these persistent migraines? Any remedies?

Chosen Answer:

There are so many causes for migraines and you need an evaluation to determine what might be aggrivating yours.
Sound, light, smells, certain foods and so much more.
Mine were due to chronic sinus. Some of the new over the counter products are excellent, but to be safe seek a doctor for help.

I have a small brain tumour that often gives me headaches and migraines i am of course regularly seeing doctors about other effects of the tumour but there’s nothing they can do about these headaches other than give me painkillers like ibuprofen and paracetamol. Does anyone have any alternate treatments or tips as to how to ease my pain with out taking a load of meds. Thanks

Chosen Answer:

There is available this amazing migraine stick thing that contains just natural ingredients.

You apply a small amount to your temples and along your forehead.

You can buy them in supermarkets, health food stores and pharmacies.

My son suffers severe migraines, and this stick, he has a children’s one which is thick like a glue stick. And this has often been the only thing that helps. Apart from him taking Catapres which sedates him.

Usually twice a year i get a really bad headache, see lines floating about, and feel nauseous. Last time this happened I was at a restaurant with florescent lights (they really bother my eyes because they are sensitive to lights) and I had the same symptoms. Are these migraines or just normal headaches because of my eyes being sensitive to light? If this is a migraine how do i treat it?

Chosen Answer:

if you’re nauseous and sensitive to light and it only happens a few times a year- it’s probably a migraine.

honestly, if you can, just get to a dark, quiet, cool room, and lay down. Hide in bed until it passes. Ice packs on your head for 20 minutes at a time help, and maybe some Excedrin migraine or ibuprofen will help.

If it’s extreme, go to the ER and get an Imitrex. However, I get theses frequently and they pass in about 12-48 hours.

Im pretty sure I have a sinus infection, as I am having the worst pain that goes from my nose up into my eye, head, and sinuses. I am having yellow mucus in my nose, runny nose, slight cough and somewhat sore throat. Really all thats getting to me today is the pain, its excruciating and making it hard for me to get my overload of homework done. I would go to a Walgreens or CVS Minute Clinic but its sunday and they are closing. I have taken Advils, Fioricet (which has butalbital, Tylenol and caffiene in it), and so far they have only dulled the pain. Its almost like a shocking, burning sensation but its very intense. I take allergy pills regularly and I do siuns rinses.
Anybody……what the heck else can I do? Its just my nose really but it’s just mind numbingly painful. Im trying to avoid antibiotics but it may get to that point.
Any help would be great.
Thanks in advance.

Chosen Answer:

This changed my life: Grossan Hydro-Pulse Sinus Irrigator. Get one. It’s well worth the money. I used to get sinus infections all the time. Not anymore.

it’s is suppose to be available from one vendor, yet no one has it available. Wouldn’t other manufacturers of drugs come up with something else since there is such a demand for this product, the original company doesn’t even have a 17 year time limit on it, there generics on it yet none of those are available either, what gives? Why is there such a problem getting this the drug my doc gave me is worthless, Fioricet (pills). Imitrex spray, is great except it’s expensive and there is only so much that the insurance companies will give you per month, it’s almost a conspiracy so you have to buy more Imitrex out of pocket or just suffer, my doctor doesn’t even know about this, I just got another script and he said that the generics are available, he looked it up in the PDR and swears it’s available in a generic form.

Instead of OTC/prescription drugs, you could try herbal medicines.

I have had problems with sinus headaches for over 20 years (since my middle 20′s). They mainly occur across the forehead, but when they are really bad, the pain also goes down my jaw on either side. The pain can also be present in the muscles @ the base of the skull (upper neck area). I also have a deviated septum & I snore. Any suggestions to keep my sinuses in tip-top condition to alleviate my headaches or should I be looking for a different cause, like migraine, tension, or TMJ. Are there nutrients, minerals, etc. that keep sinuses healthy? Thanks.

Chosen Answer:

Here are some all natural supplement than can be very helpful.

Alfalfa Complex: reduces the effect of inflammatory endorphins especially for sinus pressure; natural antihistamine

Zinc complex: promotes healing of mucous lining

Garlic Complex: reduces inflammation; natural sinus and nasal decongestant

B-Complex: brings balance to hormonal fluctuations; anti-stress

Hope this is useful and feel free to contact me with questions or for the brand I use and recommend.

My husband gets migraines when his sleep schedule is messed up or he doesn’t eat meals at the right times. This is difficult as he has a third shift job and sometimes must switch his schedule around to do certain things during the day. The only way I know is to give him some excedrin and have him sleep for a while. This often gets in the way of things we have to do. Anyone know of any ways that would help his migraines so that we can still do what we need to instead of getting stuck at home? Thanks in advance.

Chosen Answer:

I suffer with migraines and see a Neurologist. He prescribes Fiorecet for me. However, the thing that makes migraines different from ordinary headaches is, with migraine, the cerebral veins vasodialate, expand, causing tremendous pain. With an ordinary headache, they constrict. My neurologist told me always use an ice pack on the area of the head that has the migraine. People have the misconception that the headaches actually takes place in the brain. It does not. It affects all the veins under the skull covering. That’s where all the veins are and it is so vascular there, it is the reason that a severe blow to head bleeds so much. So use ice packs and if he can get some migraine medications, then he should see his MD. There are a lot of medications out there for migraines, He just has to find the one that works for him. I’ve tried them all, well, my MD prescribed a lot of different ones and the only thing that works for me is Fiorecet. Immetrex is supposed to be really good, but it didn’t work for me. I know his pain. Good luck, I hope he feels better soon.
