Don’t waste time reading this now… or any other answers you get on this forum as looking at a computer screen exacerbates the problem.
The only thing you can do if the medication (you don’t mention what it is) isn’t helping is as suggested. Go into your bedroom or wherever it is quiet and turn off all the lights and lie down with eyes closed. If it does not improve go to the ER.
I know how you feel as I had migraines along with sinus, cluster, and tension headaches when in the USAF.
For future reference it is imperative to medicate when you first get the “aura” that almost always precedes the onset. Mine were visual.. spots in front of my eyes and blurring of vision. I used to take Caffergot (ergotamine) which is still in use today according to Medscape. One of the doctors (flight surgeon) I worked for then was an Osteopath by training and believed in his “headache diet” low in histamines. It helped quite a bit actually. Try reducing or eliminating the following from your diet: citrus fruits, bananas, coffee, tea, nuts, cheeses, chocolate, and preserved or marinated foods.
The real key to treatment of any pain is to medicate right away when symptoms appear. You cannot “chase pain”.. unfortunately once it comes it is tough to rid yourself of it.
Best of luck to you.. I can sympathize with your plight.

    Have you tried different medications?
My sister gets extreme migranes, it runs through the family and she could never find the right medication. But she told the doctor about it and she finally found the right medication after a couple of tries.

When i get migranes all i do is just rest, try to sleep alot.
Try to get away from stress, and my eyes are really sensitive when i get migranes too, sometimes i get a cold rag and lay it over my eyes/forhead and laydown.

    hope i helped a bit!
    :]

The only thing that helps me at home is to lay down in a dark, quiet room with a warm cloth over my forehead. If you feel nauseous, don’t try to stop yourself from vomiting. It usually helps too.

YES Stop drinking Tap Water(city water) the dead organisms in the water build up in your brain stem and block the signals to the brain.Try and drink bottled water for a week and see the difference, even cooking with city water like boiling spaghetti is still like drinking it, as for now see the doc or get someone to massage your neck and lower skull. I would but I cannot reach from here lol!
