My friend may be banned from driving because she sometimes has visual migraine how long does the ban last?

My girl friend gets visual migraine which sometimes means she has visual disturbance, she sees blind spots, zig zag lines, stars, etc for 20 to 30 minutes. She has been advised to quit her drivers license.
She is very upset because it means she will lose her job and she also enjoys driving. How long will her ban last if its implemented, will it be permanent?

Chosen Answer:

I believe she will be banned until she is cleared by a doctor. That is the way it is with most debilitating illnesses of this type, such as epilepsy. It really stinks, but its that way to protect herself and others around her.

usually it all depends on how severe her case is. in these situations, you usually lose your license and then have to 6 months without having an issue(in this case the migraine) in order to get it back. a friend of mine has epileptic seizures and this is the procedure in our state, he needs to go 6 months without one in order to get his license back. it might vary between states though.

It’s going to depend on the state’s DMV rules.
If she’s driving vision impaired she’s not only a danger to the rest of us but also herself.

Feel bad for her, but she needs to think about the rest of us out there on the road too.

If she thinks she feels bad now, how’s she going to feel when she hurts or kills someone because of her driving when she can’t see well.
