How can I get rid of an ongoing migraine?

I’ve gotten migraines ever since I was 10(20 now) and rest and medicine has gotten rid of them. but I got a migraine on the 17th and 5 days later it is still here. I’ve tried everything in the book to try and get rid of it. Medicine, rest, hot shower, etc. none of it makes it go away. Are there any other ways ya’ll can think of to try and get rid of it?

Chosen Answer:

I had to change my diet and focus on avoiding triggers. After taking several doses of excedrin and at least a dose of Imitrex every single day for a long time, I decided I’d try anything. I read the book called Heal Your Headache by Dr. David Buchholz. Some say it doesn’t work, and I didn’t believe it could, but I’ve only needed 1 imitrex in the last two months because of it.

edit: It can take up to a week for the change in your diet to be effective in reducing your headaches, so don’t give up too quickly.
Migraines are horrible, and if this doesn’t work, I hope you can find a way to get rid of it.
