What can I do to avoid getting a migraine?
Sometimes I can kind of sense that I’ll get a migraine headache soon, only that would be really inconvenient because I have finals this week. Is there anything I can do to prevent getting one?

There are two main types of migraines. About 85% of migraine sufferers have common migraines. The other 15% have classical migraines.
Migraine Triggers include:
* Stress
* Sleep deprivation and poor sleep hygiene
* Too much caffeine
* Obesity
* Poor nutrition
* Overuse of pain pills
* Smoking
* Skipping meals
* Alcohol
Women tend to get more migraines partly because of fluctuations in estrogen that occur as part of the menstrual cycle.
Hypoglycemia is known as the great mimicker – because it can mimic migraines and other conditions. Allergies, toxins, injuries, dehydration, sleep deficit and nutrient deficiency can create an imbalance in blood sugar metabolism.
Many supplements can help, especially those that focus on filling nutrient deficiencies, draining away toxins, allaying emotional distress and repairing tissue traumatized by injury. Many prescription medications are available, and several over-the-counter supplements including magnesium, CoQ-10, riboflavin and feverfew.
It’s best to be checked by your physician to find the cause of the migraines to receive proper treatment.
